MapleCity in March 2026..

A lot has happened to MapleCity until (and still) that date, some good things, some bad, so let's go over some things that happened:

1. Website Growth

We went from 68 users to 72 users in a span of around a week. Where half of these 4 users came from the Video Sharing Website YouView, more specifically, this video. I greatly appreciate that people started making videos about MapleCity which helps making it more popular. EpikWebDev, if you are reading this, I owe you a massive thank-you for introducing people to MapleCity on your website :-).

2. FTP Access Loss

This is related to the internal infrastructure of MapleCity. Around a week ago I lost the access to the FTP server of the website, which means that I can't edit the website anymore, nor upload any files to it. What I identified is that the problem is that the FTP URL has been changed, and I wasn't aware of that. Because of that, no updates for now on :(

That's pretty much all I had to say today, goodbye!

How to join lands/games

I am writing this blog post due to the fact that some users do not know how to join lands, and that kind of upsets me. So here we go:

1. Press the "Games" link on the header

2. Go to a game's page by clicking it's name which is purple/game color

3. Press the "Play" button

..and then you're in! If you don't have the Play button, then create an avatar by going to the customization page located on the dashboard or press this link to go to it directly. Waiting a few seconds on the page is usually enough.

The (yet again) new client.

 Hello!

It was definitely a lot of time since anything was posted onto this blog, so let's change that!

I've got an decision that the client will be reworked COMPLETELY, down to the backbone of the client, and it'll be playable inside browsers! Here's a Sneek Peek:

Web-client! (And other stuff)

 Implementing web-based client

Hello everyone, today I was trying to implement the website connectivity to the client, which is written in Godot, but since implementing custom protocol handling isn't a easy task. I ended up with a web-based client!

Of course it may be slower than the standalone windows client, but hey, atleast it can run on MacOS and Linux without any emulators! Go check it out at https://maplecity.rf.gd/play/client.php :D

Website updates

Not only we added a client onto the site, but also new website updates came around! Let me walk you through some:

 1. Currencies

Now we have 2 new currencies! They are Mbux and Mcents, if you wonder: 1 Mbuck = 10 Mcents, so 1 Mcent = 0.1 Mbux.

 2. Game details page

Before adding the details page, the Games page was just a list of boxes and texts. Now you can see the details of Lands; Description, Creation date, Update date and Genre to be exact, we also implemented a way to edit your lands!

 New users

As of July 18th 2025, just 1 user registered after 17/07/2025: EpikWebDev. Say hi to them in forums!

idk why i put this :/
